House Passes Bill To Avoid Shutdown; Measure Faces Long Odds In Senate

The House voted 230-197 to pass a short-term funding bill. Republicans need 60 votes in the Senate to proceed on the four-week continuing resolution, which would only extend funding until Feb. 16. The deadline to avert a shutdown is midnight on Friday.
