NPR’s Favorite Books of 2021 Have Arrived |
Gather round, all ye bookish! This past week marks this year’s launch of Books We Love (formerly known as the Book Concierge), NPR’s bountiful, annual, totally customizable reading guide, bursting with more than 360 of our favorite titles published across the past year. For the uninitiated, here’s the long and short of it: Books We Love is an utterly interactive discovery tool that caters to your every readerly whim. Born out of our own fatigue with standard-issue end-of-year lists, we’ve asked our staffers and critics to nominate their favorite books of the year to give you this thoughtfully-organized horn o’ plenty of picks. Mix and match our fun, clickable index on the left-hand side of the homepage to filter results and find the book that’s perfect for you or someone you love. Say you’ve got someone in need of a gorgeous new book club idea? We’ve got loads to pick from. Need something you’ll actually finish in time for the new year? Run - don’t walk - to our Rather Short section. Just curious about what our staff’s reading, but want to keep it light? Blend Funny Stuff and Staff Picks to get precisely where you need to go. We hope you find our feast of titles as rich, remarkable, and joyful as we do. We’re particularly proud to bring you Books We Love this year because this edition is dedicated to Petra Mayer: friend, NPR Books editor, and a woman whose superpower was in connecting readers with books they’d love. Our guide every year is infused with her spirit, and it’s our bittersweet privilege to bring you these books on her behalf. So, from all of us -- plunge in, wander around, and find something wonderful to read today. |
