Antonio Damasio's three layered theory of consciousness

Developed in his (1999) e book, 'The Feeling of What Happens', Antonio Damasio's 3 layered idea of consciousness is primarily based on a hierarchy of ranges, with every level building upon the final. The maximum basic representation of the organism is referred to as the Protoself, subsequent is Core Consciousness, and eventually, Extended Consciousness. Damasio, who is an internationally diagnosed leader in neuroscience, was educated on the University of Lisbon and presently directs the University of Southern California Brain and Creativity Institute.[1] Damasio's technique to explaining the improvement of focus is based on three notions: emotion, feeling, and feeling a sense. Emotions are a set of subconscious neural responses to qualia.[citation needed] These complicated reactions to stimuli reason observable external changes within the organism. A feeling arises whilst the organism becomes aware about the modifications it's far experiencing because of external or internal stimuli.[2]
