Working out is boring. SOS!

Convince me otherwise.

In a Nutshell
I hate working out. Obviously, I know it's important for your health — I do work at Healthline afterall. But it's just so … blah. I'm always counting down the seconds until I'm done and able to do something, ya know, fun!
Maybe I just haven't found the right workout routine yet. But I'm dying to know how others stay motivated to exercise. Please tell me you have some tips.
Before we dive deeper into my anti-fitness journey, here are three stories I picked out for you:
Try these 13 essential oils for pain relief
Is it gas or early symptoms of appendicitis?
Best and worst foods for an overactive bladder

How do you motivate yourself to exercise?

How do you motivate yourself to exercise?
I've spent 10+ years trying to find "fun" exercises in hopes of inspiring consistency.
Signing up for different gym memberships, running along beaches, biking, hot yoga, training Brazilian jiu-jitsu — you name it, I've done it. But nothing keeps me hooked. I genuinely enjoy going for hikes and walks, and even though I love the views and fresh air, it still feels like a chore like I *need* to be doing it.
Should the health benefits of exercising keep me motivated? Probably. Working out does give me energy, boosts my mood, and feels rewarding when I see myself toning up. It can also be a great coping strategy, but it's really hard for me to stay physically active when I'm stressed or overwhelmed. I feel extra down because I know I'm not doing myself any favors by being inactive! Ugh.
I want to hear from you: Which workouts do you enjoy most? And what motivates you to stay consistent, especially when you truly don't want to do it? Chime in at wellnesswire@healthline.com!
