Election Results: Ex-Coal Executive Blankenship Falls In W.Va. Senate Primary; Outsider Wins In Indiana

President Trump had urged Republican voters to reject Don Blankenship, who spent a year in federal prison for safety lapses that led to the death of 29 miners. Blankenship came in a distant third behind state Attorney General Patrick Morrisey.

In Indiana, businessman Mike Braun rode the outsider mantle to victory in a vitriolic race that Republicans hope won't damage their chances to unseat vulnerable Democratic Sen. Joe Donnelly.
