New Mix: M. Ward, David Bowie Saxophonist Donny McCaslin, Sad Baxter, More

We could all use something to feel good about - something to make us feel better about the state of the world and all the people on this crazy, beautiful planet. We hope this week's new mix can help get you there, with music from M. Ward, saxophonist and Bowie backer Donny McCaslin, buoyant rock from Sad Baxter and more. Pay particular attention to the closing track from the band Culture Abuse. "Bee Kind To The Bugs" has one, simple, overriding message we could all stand to hear: Be kind. Be kind to everyone. Be kind to yourself. Be kind to all creatures, great and small.

(If they haven't yet released a full album, their first EP or single can count.)

Since 1990, Spiritualized has acted as an outlet for J. Spaceman's grand vision, increasingly incorporating choirs and horn sections for something of a psych-soul revue. But for the new Spiritualized album, out Sept. 7, J. Spaceman made And Nothing Hurt entirely on his own in his east London home.
