Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., stalled a Senate vote past midnight due to his concern about spending levels in the bill, triggering at least the second temporary government funding impasse in three weeks.
The Senate is expected to hold a vote sometime between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. ET and then send the bill to the House. If it passes, then a partial government shutdown would essentially be avoided before regular business hours resume Friday morning. |
