Trump Backs Down From Census Fight, Orders Agencies To Share Data On Citizenship Status

President Trump said he would drop efforts to include a citizenship question on the 2020 census. Instead, he will sign an executive order directing all U.S. agencies to provide the Department of Commerce the information they have on citizenship, noncitizenship and immigration status. It is not clear what impact the order will have.
