Plus, it usually requires extra time and patience to maximize its flavor potential — neither of which I care to give after a long day of work. | Enter a versatile, vegetarian alternative: tofu steaks. Yes, yes, I *know* that this sounds like a cop-out substitute, but let me remind you of a few things: Tofu is high in protein, essential amino acids, and various vitamins and nutrients. It takes significantly less time to prepare than a normal cut of beef, and it's more affordable.
