How to get the most out of an FSA
💰 What's an FSA?! An FSA is essentially a savings account. Money is removed from your paychecks and isn't taxed, which allows you to save on certain expenses. FSAs are offered through an employer — you won't find them with Medicare, Medicaid, or plans available on the Health Insurance Marketplace.
👀 What can you spend this money on? People typically use these funds to pay for dependent care costs (like preschool, day care, and summer camp) or out-of-pocket health care, which can include copayments and deductibles.
🤯 But wait, there's more … What people usually forget is that an FSA can also be used to buy a wide variety of health and wellness products! Some of the most popular things people get with these leftover savings include:
  • over-the-counter medications
  • home medical devices
  • prescription sunglasses
  • contact lenses
  • dental treatments
  • birth control
  • menstrual products
  • pregnancy and fertility testing
  • sunscreen
Finally ready to invest in a Theragun? What about a new fitness tracker? Or, perhaps you want to stock up on first aid supplies. We rounded up a ton of FSA-eligible products for you below. (Just be sure to buy before December 31.)

Waterpik Cordless Water Flosser
The last time we shared a water flosser, many of you rushed to get your own. If you didn't buy one last time, it's a great chance to use your FSA money! Waterpik's flosser uses a powerful combination of water pressure and pulsations to clean deep between your teeth and below the gumline. And the fact that it's cordless means you can maneuver the device between all of those sneaky crevices in your mouth without battling any annoying wires.
