I spent a lot of my 2022 on airplanes and in rental cars, making my way (with a backpack of equipment in tow) to protests and campaign rallies. I learned a lot — that voters are worried about democracy, that spare batteries get heavy, that those gas station air machines can be tricky to use — and also, I learned about the cities I visited by listening to local public radio stations. It’s easy to take the daily news and cultural coverage of the NPR Network for granted — after all, we report to you faithfully, around the clock, every day. With only a few hours left before 2023 is upon us, this is no time to take crucially important reporting and exceptional culture for granted. This is the time to support NPR and WUFT 89.1 as generously as you can. We will need every dollar to meet the challenges 2023 is sure to bring. |
