Happy New Year! Everyone says hindsight is 2020 ;) — but here at Life Kit, we’re all about the present. We’ve been working hard on a batch of new episodes designed around positive, actionable changes for the new year, and it’ll be rolling out throughout January. Watch this space so you don’t miss a thing. Keep reading for more new year, ~*new you*~ content — from attempting dry January to making the most of your weekend. Plus, our first #lifekitchallenge! |
Did your cup runneth over with celebratory bubbly this New Year’s Eve? Have your ears perked up every time that coworker raves about her dry January stint? Or were you, perhaps, a little too enthusiastic about the White Claw trend over the summer? There are a million reasons people are deciding not to drink for 31 days in January, and there’s good news! Science supports just about all of them. A recent study, for example, showed that people who took just a brief break from booze lost some weight and saw improvement in blood pressure and insulin sensitivity. In another study, a majority of participants reported better sleep and a sense of achievement after taking a month off the juice. For strategies to start and succeed at dry January, listen to Life Kit’s full episode here. And if you decide to give it a try, let us know! Tag your dry January story with #lifekitchallenge on Twitter and Instagram for a chance to be featured in our newsletter. Throughout this month, the Life Kit newsletter team will be posting tips, tricks and mocktail recipes, and we’d love to have you along for the ride! Stay with us by subscribing to our newsletter, and if you have a friend who's going dry this month, we hope you'll forward them this email. — Andee Tagle, Life Kit producer |
