What were you hoping to find in today's newsletter? New music from your favorite artist? Maybe a Tiny Desk concert that you'll pass along to a friend? Perhaps an episode of All Songs Considered featuring a guest DJ set from Rodrigo Amarante, new music from Big Thief, or the announcement of the Tiny Desk Contest winner. Whatever you’re looking for each week, from the inspiring and the uplifting to the thought-provoking and adventurous, the NPR Music team has worked hard to deliver it. I'm Bob Boilen, creator and host of All Songs Considered and the Tiny Desk concert series. My mission at NPR Music is to change lives in positive ways. Our entire team is passionate about finding talented artists and giving them a platform. That's why this year, All Songs Considered featured new music from hundreds of artists, mixing anticipated releases with great unknowns. And though I had to leave my desk as we closed down the NPR offices in 2020, we still published more than 150 Tiny Desk (home) concerts this year, including performances from artists including C. Tangana, Jazmine Sullivan, The Weather Station, Lucy Dacus, Laurie Anderson, Vince Staples and so many more. If you ever wanted to say thank you, and support NPR, the best way to do that is to donate to your local NPR station. Today, I ask you to stop for just a moment, consider all you get from NPR Music and this newsletter, and support it by contributing to the NPR station in your community. |
