Have you tried the paleo diet or know someone who lost weight on keto? Millions of Americans try fad diets every year, but they rarely keep the weight off for good.
Barry Estabrook is best known for his hard-hitting investigative journalism exposing the realities of the U.S. agriculture system -- think flavorless tomatoes and pig crating.
Facing his own weight challenges and maxed out on cholesterol drugs, he recently turned the lens on himself and tried many of the most popular diets out there. He spoke with NPR about his new book Just Eat: One Reporter's Quest for a Weight-Loss Regimen That Works.
